Reasons for Starting Winter Train Services
With normal trains fully booked and airfares on the rise, these trains are designed to ease the additional passenger rush. Although the trains are classified as "winter specials" per the Railway Board's direction, an official told PTI that their schedule takes into account the increased demand generated by the Coldplay events.
Officials pointed out that demand for these special trains is expected to surpass capacity and that airfares have skyrocketed between the two cities of Mumbai and Ahmedabad.

The winter train will take small halts at various locations between Mumbai and Ahmedabad and vice-versa. These stops include Borivali, Vapi, Udhna, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, and Geratpur.
