There is a reason Thailand keeps appearing at the top of every honeymoon shortlist for Indian couples. The country does something almost effortless, it puts a rooftop dinner above a glittering Bangkok skyline, a longtail boat gliding into a limestone-framed bay in Krabi, a couples spa tucked inside a Chiang Mai jungle resort, and a full moon lighting up the Andaman Sea all within a single, seamlessly planned trip. And somehow, it prices the whole experience at a fraction of what the Maldives or Europe would cost.
Thailand honeymoon packages from India make particular sense in 2026. Bangkok is just 3 to 4 hours by air from Delhi, Mumbai, or Bangalore, shorter than many domestic Indian routes. The food hits familiar spice notes. The baht goes further than almost any other currency for Indian travellers. And the range of experiences on offer; ancient temples, powder-white beaches, candlelit seafood dinners on the sand, world-class island diving, means two people with completely different honeymoon ideas can both get exactly what they want from a single trip.
Travalot's Thailand honeymoon packages start from ₹32,999 per person for 5 nights, with fully customised itineraries available up to 10 nights. Every Thailand couple tour package we build includes accommodation, daily breakfast, airport transfers, visa guidance, and curated romantic experiences, designed around what you two actually want, not a fixed group schedule.

Thailand Honeymoon Package Cost from India: What to Budget?
Understanding the real Thailand honeymoon trip cost from India helps you choose the right package and plan your on-ground spending without surprises. Here is an honest breakdown.
Flights:
Flights are typically the single largest component of any Thailand honeymoon package from India booking. Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) is the primary entry point, with Phuket (HKT) and Krabi (KBZ) also served directly from several Indian cities. Flight times are short:
- Delhi to Bangkok: 4 hours
- Mumbai to Bangkok: 4 hours
- Bangalore to Bangkok: 3.5 hours
- Kolkata to Bangkok: 3 hours
- Bangalore to Phuket: 3.5 hours (direct frequencies expanded for 2026)
Airlines operating direct India–Thailand routes include IndiGo, Air India, Thai Airways, AirAsia, and SpiceJet. Round-trip economy fares typically range from ₹12,000 to ₹22,000 per person, depending on season and how early you book.
Smart booking tips to reduce your Thailand honeymoon package cost:
- Book 6–8 weeks ahead for the best economy fares
- Mid-week departures (Tuesday–Thursday) typically save ₹2,000–6,000 versus weekend flights
- Avoid Indian school holidays and the December peak for lower fares
- AirAsia flash sales can bring round-trip fares as low as ₹14,000–18,000 per person from southern cities
Accommodation:
- This is where the Thailand couple package price varies most significantly:
- Budget guesthouses and boutique hotels: ₹1,800–3,500 per night
- Mid-range 3-4 star resort rooms: ₹4,000–8,000 per night
- Private pool villa (the Phuket and Koh Samui honeymoon classic): ₹7,000–16,000 per night
- Luxury beachfront and clifftop resorts (Rosewood, Amanpuri, SALA): ₹20,000–55,000+ per night

Best Places to Visit in Thailand for Couples
1. Bangkok:
Bangkok sets the tone for the entire honeymoon. In the morning, you're standing barefoot at the Grand Palace, watching the gilded spires catch the early light. By afternoon, you're exploring the floating flowers of the Damnoen Saduak Market from a traditional wooden boat. By evening, you're 77 floors above the city at the Mahanakhon Skywalk with Bangkok glittering in every direction, cocktail in hand. After midnight, Khao San Road is still going strong and the riverside bars are just warming up.
For Indian honeymooners, Bangkok is often the city that resets your idea of what a romantic urban destination can be, layered, endlessly surprising, and completely in its own league among Southeast Asian capitals.
Don't miss as a couple: Grand Palace at sunrise before the crowds arrive, a Chao Phraya dinner cruise, the sky bar experience at Lebua or Mahanakhon, and a morning at Chatuchak Market for souvenirs.
Best Time to Visit Bangkok: November to February
2. Phuket:
Phuket is Thailand's most iconic beach destination, and for good reason. The island's southwest coast serves up spectacular Andaman Sea scenery: dramatic limestone headlands, crystal-clear water, and a string of beaches that each have their own personality. Kata Beach and Karon Beach are quieter and cleaner, ideal for couples wanting space and calm water. Patong is more social and vibrant, with beach clubs and live music running into the night.
Beyond the beaches, Phuket has a genuinely interesting side. Phuket Old Town is a beautiful neighbourhood of Sino-Portuguese shophouses, pastel-coloured facades, and excellent coffee bars. The Big Buddha watches over the entire island from 45 metres and the views from the hilltop are worth every step of the climb.
Don't miss as a couple: A private sunset sail on the Andaman Sea, a sunrise visit to the Big Buddha, the beachfront dinner experience at Kata Noi, and a day trip to Phi Phi Island by speedboat.
Best Time to Visit Phuket: December to March (Andaman Sea is calm; water visibility is excellent for snorkelling and diving)
3. Krabi:
Krabi's landscape is something the other destinations in Thailand simply cannot match, sheer limestone karsts rising from jade-green water, jungle pressing right to the sand, and a sense of natural drama that makes every photo look like it was staged. Railay Beach, accessible only by longtail boat because the cliffs block road access, is one of the most photographed beaches in Asia and one of the most genuinely romantic places you can spend a day in Thailand.
For Indian honeymooners, Krabi pairs exceptionally well with Phuket on a combined itinerary, the two are 2.5 hours apart by road, and the contrast is perfect: Phuket for buzz and beach clubs, Krabi for landscapes, rock climbing, and a slower, more intimate pace.
Don't miss as a couple: A longtail boat to Railay Beach at low season, the Four Islands snorkelling tour, a beachside dinner at Lae Lay Grill with Andaman Sea views, and a kayaking trip through the mangrove caves at Ao Thalane.
Best Time to Visit Krabi: November to March
4. Phi Phi Island:
Arriving into Phi Phi Island by speedboat; the bay opening up with limestone cliffs rising on both sides and the water shifting from deep blue to turquoise as you enter; is one of those travel moments couples talk about for years. Phi Phi Don is the inhabited island, with beach restaurants, guesthouses, and an evening strip that gets lively after dark. Phi Phi Leh, the smaller uninhabited island, is where Maya Bay sits, the beach made famous by the film The Beach, now protected and more beautiful than ever.
The water around Phi Phi is outstanding for diving. Operators on the island run PADI courses and guided dive trips to Shark Point and Anemone Reef, where reef sharks and sea turtles are regular sightings.
Don't miss as a couple: Maya Bay in the early morning before day-trippers arrive, snorkelling at Bamboo Island, and a sunset cocktail on the Phi Phi Don beach strip.
Best Time to Visit Phi Phi Island: November to April
5. Chiang Mai:
Every Thailand honeymoon package that focuses only on Bangkok and the beaches misses something genuinely important, Chiang Mai, the ancient Lanna capital in northern Thailand. The pace here is completely different: cooler, quieter, and layered with centuries of history. The Old City is surrounded by a moat and crumbling ramparts, with over 300 temples inside its walls, including Wat Chedi Luang, built in the 14th century, and Wat Phra Singh, one of the most sacred in the north.
Chiang Mai is also where you'll find Thailand's most ethical elephant sanctuaries, the Elephant Nature Park in particular, where rescued elephants roam freely and couples spend the day feeding and bathing them. And in November, the Yi Peng Lantern Festival, tens of thousands of paper lanterns released into the night sky simultaneously, is one of the most extraordinary experiences available to any couple travelling in Asia. If your honeymoon timing allows, plan around it. Chiang Mai hotels sell out months in advance for Yi Peng; Travalot can time your itinerary accordingly.
Don't miss as a couple: A sunrise at Doi Suthep Temple, an evening at the Chang Puak Gate Night Market, the Yi Peng Lantern Festival (November), a Thai cooking class, and a couples spa session at one of Chiang Mai's renowned wellness retreats.
Best Time to Visit Chiang Mai: November to February (and specifically November for Yi Peng)
6. Koh Samui:
Koh Samui sits in the Gulf of Thailand, 30 minutes by flight from Bangkok or accessible by ferry from the mainland, and has a distinctly upscale character compared to most Thai islands. Its best beaches, Chaweng and Lamai, peak between December and February when the Gulf of Thailand is calm, warm, and ideal for swimming. The island's luxury resort and spa culture is exceptionally well developed, with properties that rival anything in Southeast Asia.
The Secret Buddha Garden, tucked into the hills above Nathon, is one of the most unusual attractions on any Thailand honeymoon package, a private garden of over 60 hand-sculpted mythological statues built over decades by a local fruit farmer. Worth every minute of the bumpy road up.
Don't miss as a couple: Ang Thong Marine Park by boat, a sunset dinner at a Chaweng beachfront restaurant, the Wat Plai Laem temple at dusk, and a couples spa day at one of the island's hilltop wellness resorts.
Best Time to Visit Koh Samui: December to February
7. Pattaya:
Pattaya has reinvented itself considerably over the past decade, and today's Pattaya is just as interesting in daylight as it is after dark. The Sanctuary of Truth is one of the most remarkable wooden structures in all of Asia, an entirely hand-carved temple of staggering intricacy, still under construction since 1981. Nong Nooch Tropical Garden, spread across 600 acres, is spectacular for couples who enjoy landscape and horticulture. And when the sun sets, Pattaya's waterfront promenade and live performance venues deliver evenings that are genuinely entertaining.
For Indian honeymooners, Pattaya is often the ideal first stop on a Bangkok–Pattaya–Phuket circuit, close enough to Bangkok to reach comfortably on day two, different enough to feel like a genuine change of scenery.
Don't miss as a couple: The Sanctuary of Truth at golden hour, a Coral Island snorkelling day trip, Nong Nooch Tropical Garden, and a live performance at one of Pattaya's cabaret or cultural show venues.
Best Time to Visit Pattaya: November to February

Peak Season: November to April: Best for Most Honeymoon Plans
This is when the majority of Thailand honeymoon packages from India get booked, and for good reason. Skies are clear, humidity is low, and temperatures sit comfortably between 20°C and 30°C across most of the country. Beach conditions are excellent on both the Andaman (Phuket, Krabi, Phi Phi) and Gulf (Koh Samui, Koh Phangan) coasts, with exceptional visibility for snorkelling and diving. November is particularly special if you can align with the Yi Peng Lantern Festival in Chiang Mai. February through April can see prices climb around Indian school holidays, book 2 to 3 months ahead.
Shoulder Season: May and October: Best Value
The transition months on either side of the monsoon. Prices drop noticeably, crowds thin out, and the country is fully open for travel. Chiang Mai's mountains are lush and green in October. The northern Andaman coast (Phuket, Krabi) begins recovering in late October. For couples who want the Thailand honeymoon experience without peak season pricing, this is the sweet spot.
Wet Season: June to September: Budget Honeymoon Option
The southwest monsoon brings rain to the western coast, Phuket and Krabi can see rough seas from May through September, with some boat services suspended. That said, Bangkok, Pattaya, Chiang Mai, and the Gulf coast islands remain fully accessible. Hotels and flights are significantly cheaper. Thailand's waterfalls, rice paddies, and jungle landscapes are at their most dramatic. If you don't mind occasional afternoon downpours, the wet season offers genuinely excellent value for couples on a tighter budget.
How to Reach Thailand from India for Your Honeymoon?
By Air:
Flying is the most practical, and really the only sensible, way to reach Thailand from India for a honeymoon. Direct flights connect multiple Indian cities to Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) and to Phuket (HKT) and Krabi (KBZ) on the Andaman coast. Flight times are impressively short:
- Delhi to Bangkok: 4 hours
- Mumbai to Bangkok: 4 hours
- Bangalore to Bangkok: 3.5 hours
- Kolkata to Bangkok: 3 hours
- Bangalore to Phuket: 3.5 hours (direct frequencies expanded for 2026)
Airlines operating direct India–Thailand routes include IndiGo, Air India, Thai Airways, AirAsia, and SpiceJet. Round-trip economy fares typically range from ₹12,000 to ₹22,000 per person depending on season and booking lead time.
Getting from the Airport to Your Hotel
Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport is 30 km from the city centre. The Suvarnabhumi Airport Rail Link connects to central Bangkok in 30 minutes for around ₹220. Taxis and Grab are reliable and metered. All Travalot Thailand honeymoon packages include airport transfers with a meet-and-greet service, so you'll have a driver waiting with your name on arrival.
Visa Requirements for Thailand Honeymoon Packages: Updated 2026
Important Update: Visa-Free Entry for Indians Is Ending
Thailand has removed India from its visa-free entry list, marking a major shift in travel access for Indian tourists who had enjoyed it since 2024. Under the revised visa measures approved by the Thai Cabinet on May 19, India will now fall under Thailand's Visa on Arrival (VoA) category, rather than the earlier visa-exemption regime.
The new rules are not yet in force, they take effect 15 days after publication in the Thai Royal Gazette. As of 27 May 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi has stated that the 60-day visa exemption for Indian ordinary passport holders for tourism and short-term business engagements remains effective until further announcement. However, given that the Cabinet approval has already been passed, travellers should plan on the new VoA rules being in effect for any trip booked from this point forward. Travalot will update all affected bookings as soon as the Royal Gazette notification is published.
New Rule: Visa on Arrival (VoA) for Indian Travellers
Under the revised policy, Indian travellers can stay in Thailand for only 15 days on a Visa on Arrival. The VoA costs THB 2,000 (approximately ₹4,600), must be paid in cash in Thai Baht, and is a single-entry visa.
VoA is available at all major international airports in Thailand including Suvarnabhumi (Bangkok), Don Mueang (Bangkok), Phuket, Chiang Mai, and Krabi.
What you need at the VoA counter:
- Valid Indian passport with at least 6 months validity and 2 blank pages
- Confirmed return flight ticket
- Hotel or villa booking confirmation
- Proof of funds: 10,000 THB per person / 20,000 THB per family (₹25,000–50,000)
- 2,000 THB in cash for the visa fee (cards are not accepted at the counter)
For Stays Longer Than 15 Days: Apply for an e-Visa Before You Travel
For stays longer than 15 days, Indians can apply for an e-Visa (Tourist Visa) before travel, which allows up to 60 days per entry. Given that most Thailand honeymoon packages run between 6 and 10 nights, the standard Visa on Arrival covers the majority of trips comfortably. However, for longer honeymoons or extended stays, the e-Visa is the right choice.
Applications are made at the official Thai e-Visa portal. Processing time: approximately 14 working days. Apply well in advance of your travel date.
Mandatory: Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)
- The Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) remains mandatory and free for all travellers, regardless of visa category.
- Official portal: tdac.immigration.go.th
- Deadline: Complete within 72 hours (3 days) before your flight
- Takes approximately 10 minutes; you receive a QR code by email to present at immigration
- Failure to complete the TDAC before boarding can result in being denied boarding
- Travalot handles all visa guidance and TDAC briefing for every Thailand honeymoon package from India we book.
