With a transit visa, visitors can leave the airport and spend no more than 96 hours exploring Singapore. As long as you fulfill the entry requirements, you can leave the airport for free if you qualify for the VFTF (Visa Free Transit Facility).
The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), India, Georgia, the People's Republic of China (PRC), Turkmenistan, and Ukraine are among the countries whose citizens can access VFTF.
The 96-hour VFTF may only be available to you if you are traveling through Singapore to or from a third country. The following conditions must be met to get the VFTF:
You can travel by any means to enter the country, but you must depart by air or sea.
You need to have a ticket for your next destination that leaves Singapore within the allotted 96 hours.
You must have a valid visa/long-term pass issued by one of the following nations for at least one month after the date of entry in Singapore under the VFTF:
- Australia
- Canada
- Germany
- Japan
- New Zealand
- Switzerland
- United Kingdom
- United States of America
