Penang National Park is the smallest national park in Malaysia, covering an area of 23 square kilometers. It has stunning beaches, mangrove forests, lowland dipterocarp trees, and an amazing seasonal meromictic lake, an uncommon occurrence made of layers of pure freshwater and saltwater. The park is often referred to as the "Bay of Glowing Amber" because of its nine magnificent beaches, which reflect the shimmering sunset. More than 417 plant species and 143 animal species, such as long-tailed macaque monkeys, turtles, flying lemurs, leopard cats, amphibians, and reptiles, can be found in Penang National Park. Known among adventurous places to see in Malaysia, it suits nature lovers, hikers, and eco-travelers.
