Abu Dhabi Named World's Safest City for 9th Year in a Row
The capital city has been on the top since the year 2017, according to the online database Numbeo, stated by the official news agency of, Wam. This achievement shows the emirate's ongoing efforts to improve the quality of life for its people, residents, and tourists.
With Dubai ranked fourth and Sharjah in fifth, the United Arab Emirates was well-represented in the top ten of the list. Ajman was placed sixth while Ras Al Khaimah was ranked seventh place in the top ten list. Let’s look at the list that comprises the 10 safest cities in 2025.

In total 382 cities were analysed in the year 2025 by Numbeo, the crowd-sourced global data website. These cities were examined based on safety metrics that check security systems, community-focused policing initiatives and emergency response capabilities.
The safety index for Abu Dhabi is 88.4 out of 100, compared to 83.8 for Dubai and Sharjah. Taipei ranked third in the chart, whereas Doha came in second.
One of the reasons for Abu Dhabi’s winning strike is its advanced healthcare and education systems, leading towards a better living standard for citizens.
"Promotion by Abu Dhabi Police of the sense of safety and security in the city, while strengthening the trust of community members, has contributed to Abu Dhabi’s recognition in the Numbeo list, reinforcing the city’s position as a preferred place to study, work and live," said by Wam, Abu Dhabi Media Office.
